NEW BOOK "HEALING YOUR LIFE' July 2, 2024 - IT'S HERE!
Sara Shaw grew up in a small midwestern town without having much and realizing throughout her childhood how that compared to others. After graduation from high school, the Internet, Google, and other sources were not yet available. Her knowledge about employment and school outside her small town was limited. Shortly after graduation she found an office job and reluctantly married to escape her turbulent home life. The following year on her birthday her father committed suicide. Navigating this journey was filled with emotions about forgiveness and looking at life through a different lens. Thinking more about how hard her father’s life was. However, this tragedy was not really a setback. The years ahead were filled with meeting many wonderful people. And for those people who were not so wonderful she chose to try and always look through that other lens.
Sara enjoys the sunny coastal life in the winter with her husband and then heads back to her roots to that small midwestern town for the summer. There she enjoys spending time with her large family & friends. Recalling when she was a little girl that she would search for hours in her back yard to try and find a four-leaf clover believing it would bring money and good luck for her family. The lucky-four clover would help with the struggles that always seemed to be there and when she could, she poured over advertisements in the back of discarded magazines on “How to Become a Writer.” The advertisement’s said you could make money and she believed the four-leaf clover would make that happen. Throughout her life Writing remained a passion but was left on the back burner because of work and family but also because of a feeling it was not really possible. After the death of her mother, she felt a powerful sense of urgency. Urgency because it is true that life is short, and there was an important story she knew about that needed to be told. However, the story she thought she knew about turned out to be more painful and devastating than she was prepared for. But she moved forward anyways and took the leap, hoping this story will give hope and healing to others.
